What you’ll need
- macOS, an installed and licensed Photoshop copy, Git and Node.js 18+ with npm.
- A supported MCP client such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.
Get connected
- Review the maintainer’s source installation instructions and clone the repository.
- Run the repository’s installer with the client option for your chosen agent; keep the clone in place because the client configuration refers to its path.
- Restart the agent, open Photoshop, then ask the agent to use ps_status. Allow macOS Automation access when prompted.
- Open a disposable image and ask the agent to inspect the layer structure before making a small edit.
